Our team at the Neukirchen Ski School has also kicked off the season full of excitement. During our first big team meeting, we laughed a lot and got into the spirit of the upcoming season together with great enthusiasm.

Our experienced ski instructor team is complete once again, and we are delighted that almost all of our long-standing instructors are part of the Ski School Neukirchen family again.

To help you better understand how we prepare your slopes to perfection, we take a look behind the scenes of snow production. Technical snow ensures reliably skiable slopes – even when there is little natural snowfall. How exactly it is produced and how sustainable modern snowmaking is, you can find out in our fun facts.

Fun Facts – Snowmaking in the Wildkogel Arena

❄️ How is technical snow produced?

• Water + air + cold → no chemicals, 100% natural.
• The droplets freeze instantly in the air, forming a stable snow cover – perfect for all levels.

💧 Equipment of the Wildkogel Arena:

• 350 modern snow generators
• 3 renatured storage ponds (320,000 m³ of water)
• The snow cannons operate for only about 7 days and nights for the initial snowmaking, and are not in use afterwards.

💦 Water consumption: 75 km of slopes (ø 25 m, 30 cm of snow)

• approx. 320,000 m³
• That’s only 0.067% of Lake Achensee – just a tiny fraction!

🌱 Energy:

• Electricity mix: 93% green energy
